PACE to Observe the Parliamentary Elections in Albania

An 18-member delegation of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE), led by Aleksander Pociej (Poland, EPP/CD), will observe the conduct of the parliamentary elections in Albania, alongside observers from the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly and the OSCE Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights (ODIHR).

The delegation will have remote meetings, in particular, with the Minister of Internal Affairs, leaders and representatives of political parties and coalitions, the Head of the Central Election Commission, as well as with representatives of civil society and the media, before travelling to Albania to observe the ballot on 25 April.

A member of the Venice Commission – the Council of Europe's group of independent legal experts – will provide legal support during the visit.

A joint press conference is scheduled in Tirana on Monday 26 April.
