Pensioners have flocked since the early hours of Friday morning to withdraw the pension that this month will be indexed by 3.3% and they will also receive compensation of ALL 3000. 

They complain that the increase of the pension that varies from ALL 400 lek to ALL 1000 is not enough for anything. The general director of the Social Insurance Institute has clarified that pensioners do not have to wait in line as there is no shortage of funds. 

The compensation of ALL 3000 will be benefited by 441 thousand pensioners who currently receive a pension less than half of the minimum wage. But if they do not withdraw it during the period April, May, June they lose the right to benefit. 

Pension indexation and compensation came into force on April 1 as a measure to help this category of society cope with the crisis of rising prices. The effect on the budget is estimated at ALL 3.3 billion.
