PM Rama to Give Up SP Chairmanship in Case of Losing April Polls
Actual Prime Minister and Head of the Socialist Party (SP), Edi Rama has indirectly informed Saturday that he will not remain leader of his political entity if the citizens of Albania refuse to give him a third term of office in the parliamentary elections of April 25, 2021.
PM Rama even mentioned his political predecessor and opponent, the Former Prime Minister and Head of Democratic Party (DP), Sali Berisha, saying that the latter gave up his position as head of the political entity but has stayed in politics convinced the Albanians were wrong to not give him a third mandate back in 2013.
However, even if he loses the April elections, he will not cease to be part of the SP and serve to the political force.
“It is very certain that if the Albanians would refuse to give me the third mandate, I would not wait for the Albanians to correct their mistake as Saliu does, who despite losing the elections, despite resigning, continues to drag his foot because he is convinced that the Albanians have made a big mistake by not giving him a third term and leaves no stone unturned, to take revenge and return the Democratic Party to power through the political groom.
The thing I have said very clearly and I am convinced of is that at the moment I am no longer in this position I am simply a person who will of course serve the Socialist Party but in no way doing what does not belong to me .
And what does not belong to me is to do what Sali does. By no means, never! While Luli does not give that answer because Luli will lose and will continue to pretend to have wonâ€, highlighted the PM in an interview.
