PM Rama Unveils Govt’s Priorities in Third Mandate

Prime Minister Edi Rama has made known Wednesday some of the priorities of his government during the third term of office, as he said that Albania is in its last phase of finalizing the provision of fully online services for the citizens.

In his speech at the 23rd edition of "Symi Symposium", organized and led by former Prime Minister George Papandreou, Rama said that online services are very important, because they will eliminate small-scale corruption that are worrying not only in Albania but even in the region.

Meanwhile, as part of the government’s priorities, PM Rama mentioned areas such as tourism, energy, agriculture and technology. Albania in the process of building the largest solar energy parks in the Balkans, as well as the construction of the third international airport in Vlora, he said.

Also, Premier mentioned the construction of the "Blue Corridor", for which he said that the second competition was opened because the first one was not successful.

“In terms of energy, we have a great potential as our production is based on hydropower. We have plans to obtain energy from the wind, a project that will start very soon.

We also have done well with a project to build a dam in northeastern Albania. Practically, this will close this circuit as it will serve as a balancer of hydropower plants since when there is a lot of rainfall, this will help, as there is a lot of lands that get flooded.

The construction of this dam will help in this aspect as it will save the reserves to be used when we need. We will have the opportunity to become exporters. In tourism, we see a lot of potential. This comes with risks and temptations to destroy as you progress.

We are trying to keep development under control by finding sustainable solutions. We are in the process of building four tourist ports in the country. So far we have none”, stated PM Rama among other things.
