Premier Has Left Albania Last in Region for Coronavirus Vaccine; Basha

Prime Minister Edi Rama has caused Albania to be the last in region when it comes to the obtainment of anti-coronavirus vaccine, accused Wednesday the Chairman of the Democratic Party (DP) Lulzim Basha.

The Opposition Leader also warned he would publicly ask the Albanian citizens to get vaccinated for the virus when the time comes, but argued that all other countries have taken better action to get the cure.

Kosovo has taken a grant to by the vaccine directly and North Macedonia has joined forces with a European Union country to receive it directly, DP’s Chair added.

"The question is different, why Albania has not taken measures. Without discussion, not only that, but I will publicly demand that Albanians are vaccinated. Every other country has taken much more appropriate measures to secure the vaccine than Albania.

We have made a reservation with the COVAX of WHO, while Kosovo has taken a grant and debt from the World Bank to buy it directly, while North Macedonia has joined forces with an EU country to take it directly. The Prime Minister, even in this regard has left Albania last in the region for the securing of the vaccine and this is unacceptable to me", said Basha.
