The President of the Republic, Ilir Meta, awarded the historian, researcher Aurel Plasari with the High Decoration "Gjergj Kastrioti Skënderbeu": "With gratitude to the researcher and writer, the tireless contributor of scientific research, who has illuminated national values ??with a special impact on Albanian society, promoters and defenders of the national and European identity of Albanians. 

In appreciation of the extraordinary work also for the realization of the most successful work dedicated to the figure and era of our National Hero, Gjergj Kastriot Skënderbeu." 

Meta said that it was a special pleasure to praise this important figure, who dedicated his life to defend the nation and the European identity of Albania.

"It was a special pleasure, that with the presence of many personalities from different fields of life, to appreciate today a multifaceted and enlightened figure of our nation, the author of many books and essays, the translator of a number of world masterpieces, the historian, the researcher, the thinker and the distinguished university professor, Aurel Plasari. 

In gratitude for the valuable and extraordinary contribution to the enlightenment of national values ??with a special impact on Albanian society, as a tireless promoter and defender of the national and European identity of Albanians, and in honour of the work and accomplishment of the work now valued as the most successful of the last decades, dedicated to the figure and era of our National Hero, I awarded Professor Plasari the high title 'Gjergj Kastrioti Skënderbeu'.
