March 7, President Expresses Deep Gratitude to Teachers
President of the Republic, Ilir Meta expressed this Sunday his deepest gratitude to all teachers in Albania, in the framework of their Day, March 7.
President was in Korca today, where he held an evaluation ceremony for all teachers, on the occasion of "March 7". In his speech, Meta expressed high appreciation for the figure of the teacher, who according to him, works for the bright future of children.
Among other things, the Head of State stressed that the role and figure of the teacher are fundamental, especially in this extremely difficult period of the coronavirus pandemic.
"For me, it was an obligation to be right here today, in Korça, in the cradle of our national renaissance of education and culture. Today we remember with extraordinary honor Pandeli Sotiri, Jeronim De Rada, Pashko Vason, Gjergj Fishta, and many other personalities, who with their vision, but also their sacrifices, gave us the Albanian language and our education. We are today to express our deep gratitude to all the teachers, educators, who work today, even in difficult conditions, to have a brighter future.
We remember the constellation of retired teachers who dedicated their lives to the bright future of the younger generation. The role and figure of the teacher are fundamental and I say this as a child of both parents. I express my deep gratitude to all the teachers today. All our teachers, especially those in rural areas, deserve even greater support in terms of digital infrastructure. We must do more so that our youth, best-educated by our teachers, build the future here ", said Meta.
