President Meta Honours Kosovo Fallen Martyrs

President of the Republic, Ilir Meta, travelled to the United States of America, where on the "Day of the Liberation of Kosovo", he honoured the martyrs of the "Atlantic" Battalion, who died for the freedom of Kosovo, brothers Agron, Mehmet and Ylli Bytyçi.

Through a social media post, the Head of State announces a meeting with the parents of the martyred brothers and demands the full disclosure of the genocide committed by Serbia in Kosovo.

"If the price of freedom were our lives, we could not give more.

Yesterday, on the Liberation Day of Kosovo, in New York, I laid a bouquet of fresh flowers and bowed with reverence, respect and deep gratitude before the memory and work of the Martyrs of the "Atlantic" Battalion who fell for the freedom of Kosovo, the brothers Agron, Mehmet and Ylli Bytyçi, the glorious history of the KLA and the pride of the Albanian-American community.

I handed over to the mother, the heroine Bahrije and to the noble father Ahmet, the high Decoration "Honour of the Nation", which I awarded to their unforgettable sons. With the extraordinary example of the most sublime sacrifice in the name of patriotism and the highest human ideals, the Bytyçi brothers will always inspire and educate the new generations of Albanians in defence of freedom, independence and sovereignty.

When more than two decades have passed since their treacherous murder and there is still no progress in shedding light on this monstrous crime, it is imperative that justice be done that will alleviate the great pain of the beloved Bytyçi family. The whitewashing of genocide and all crimes committed in Kosovo by the Milosevic regime will make a valuable contribution to more peace, security and democracy in our region!" Meta wrote.
