Rainfall Causes Massive Traffic Jam in Durrës

Few minutes of raining, which brought increased presence of water have sufficed this Thursday morning to paralyze movement of vehicles in Durres port city of western Albania, west of the capital Tirana.

Field reports have confirmed that the onset of rain has led to rising water levels on some of the city's main roads, where the sewer network could not withstand a few minutes of rain.

Most noticeable, water is present in the Stadium’s road, the neighborhood road no.14, no.13 and as a result it, the movement of vehicles has gotten very slow.

Despite the critical situation, the utility company did not seem to have taken action this summer either, as floods are a permanent problem in Durrës. This city is one of the most problematic ones Albania when it comes to floods.
