Rama Invites Assembly Members to Propose Candidates for SP Branches’ Heads
Prime Minister Edi Rama has declared on Saturday that members of the National Assembly of the Socialist Party (SP) can nominate candidates for chairmen of SP branches throughout Albania.
During the meeting of the Assembly, Rama stressed that in this competition can participate people from outside the forum of the National Assembly, but the members of this structure are not excluded to compete.
"Propose a candidacy even without being part of the SP Assembly, even by offering your own candidacy to lead the Socialist Party.
All candidates or candidates to lead the SP in each municipality, to go through a path that in fact in addition to guaranteeing the opening of the party, enables the evaluation of each candidacy, enables competition between candidates and ensures merit within them.
According to the rules book, the Headship has set up a special commission that will give the Headship the right to approve the winning candidates in early July.
The Election Commission will have a special duty to touch the whole territory with its representatives in order to have neither misunderstandings nor exclusion from this process and then to ensure that all candidates who pass the stage of seen to face publicly", said PM and Head of SP, Rama.
