Albania Establishes Rehabilitation Center for Children to Be Repatriated from Syria
Albania has the conditions to rehabilitate all Albanians trapped in camps in Syria. Lejdi Dervishi, director of the Coordination Center against Violent Extremism said that 300 teachers have been qualified for the reintegration process.
At a time when the obstacles to return them from Syria are great, in Albania the conditions to rehabilitate children or adults living in horror camps are ready. A center for coordination against violent extremism has been established specifically for this purpose.
"The will of the Albanian state is very strong and the coordination center against violent extremism has been built and has been continuing its activity for 2 and a half years to prevent and combat this phenomenon. There is a will of the government both in the framework of prevention and integration and rehabilitation of Albanian citizens at the moment they will be repatriated and returned to Albania," said Dervishi.
At least 70 Albanian citizens, including 51 children, have been trapped in the Al Hol camp in Syria for years. Waiting to return to their homeland, the last hope of their family members is in the state instances, because only through them the repatriation is possible. One week ago to promote this operation, the Minister of Interior, Sander Lleshaj paid a visit to Lebanon where he asked for support from local authorities to finalize the repatriation process.
