On the occasion of July 4, the Independence Day of the United States of America, the Speaker of the Parliament, Gramoz Ruçi, sent a congratulatory letter to the President of the House of Representatives, Nancy Pelosi.

In his message, Ruçi emphasizes that "Strategic Partnership with the United States of America is the wisest choice that Albania has made, on its path as a contributor to development, peace and security in the region and beyond."

On behalf of the Albanian Parliament and on my own behalf, I send you my warmest congratulations on the occasion of July 4, the Independence Day of the United States of America, this major event not only in US history, but also in the history and world developments.

The Declaration of Independence and the founding of the United States of America was a blessing to the great American nation, but also to all freedom-loving and peace-loving peoples across the planet.

No other nation has managed in about two and a half centuries of independence and democracy to become the greatest, most powerful, most inspiring democracy and the reference system of the nations that aspire to and build democracy in their countries.

The Declaration of Independence, the American Constitution, and American Democracy are the most significant references to building a democratic state, protecting the freedom of peoples and citizens, guaranteeing world security and peace, supporting the development and well-being of small nations and peoples. The existence of the United States of America makes us all feel equal in our efforts for development, democracy, security, stability and peace.

This crucial role of the United States for development, democracy and world peace is felt especially by us, the Albanians. The United States has been and remains the guarantor of the survival of the Albanian nation during the crossroads of our national history, the inspirers and supporters of Albania's entry into the path of freedom and democracy, after the communist dictatorship, and the leaders of the democratic world in the struggle for liberation and independence of Kosovo.

The strategic partnership with the United States of America is the wisest choice that Albania has made, on its way as a contributor to development, peace and security in the region and beyond.

Me and the Parliament of Albania are proud of the cooperation with the House of Representatives and your leadership and we are convinced that this cooperation will expand and deepen in the future,” Ruçi writes.
