Ruçi Thanks Polish Ambassador for Support on EU Negotiations

The Speaker of the Parliament, Gramoz Ruçi, met this Wednesday with the Ambassador of Poland, Monika Zuchniak-Pazdan, expressing his gratitude to Poland’s support on the path of Albania towards EU. 

Ruçi wished Ambassador Zuchniak-Pazdan success in her new task in Albania and noted the very good relations and cooperation between the two countries.

"Relations between our two countries are very good and there are no issues that divide us. Albania is grateful to Poland and the Visegrad Group countries for their continued support for the European integration process, in particular for the opening of negotiations, hoping that this support will continue for the holding of the First Intergovernmental Conference during the Portuguese presidency," stressed Ruçi.

Ruçi also expressed his gratitude for the solidarity and contribution of Poland for the reconstruction of the areas affected by the earthquake and for coping with the COVID-19 pandemic. The intensification of the inter-parliamentary cooperation is considered important.

"Poland is very clear that Albania's place is in the EU and will do everything possible to hold the First Intergovernmental Roundtable as soon as possible," said Ambassador Zuchniak-Pazdan. She pledged to boost comprehensive co-operation between the two countries, assuring Polish entrepreneurs that Albania is a safe and profitable market for Polish investment. She focused on cooperation in the field of tourism, emphasizing that Polish tourists are the largest group of foreign tourists coming to Albania.

Gramoz Ruçi and the Ambassador, Monika Zuchniak-Pazdan, also talked about the expansion of parliamentary cooperation. Ruçi reiterated the invitation for the Speaker of the Parliament / Sejm of Poland, Elżbieta Barbara Witek, to visit Albania, a visit which was agreed to take place soon.
