Signing a Coordination Protocol on Electoral Integrity for 2025 Albanian Parliamentary Elections
Today, at the premises of CEC, the General Prosecutor, Mr.Olsian Çela, the State Election Commissioner, Mr. Ilirjan Celibashi and the Head of SPAK, Mr. Altin Dumani, signed the Protocol of Coordination and Cooperation between the Central Election Commission, the General Prosecutor’s Office, and the Special Structure against Corruption and Organized Crime (SPAK).
This protocol intends to uphold the integrity of the electoral process for the 2025 Albanian parliamentary elections and details collaborative measures for preventing, identifying, and prosecuting electoral-related criminal activities.
Designed to enhance inter-institutional cooperation, the protocol facilitates the swift and efficient exchange of information among those responsible for addressing electoral offenses. Through this joint commitment, the signatory parties will facilitate effective coordination of investigative efforts and establish sustainable mechanisms for monitoring and legally addressing any actions that threaten the integrity of the electoral process.
As part of this cooperative effort, the involved institutions pledge to ongoing efforts to strengthen the electoral justice system, ensuring a fair electoral process free from external influences.
Signing this protocol, the parties aim to improve transparency, strengthen public trust in the electoral process, and establish an environment conducive to the effective prevention and prosecution of electoral violations.
