The Socialist Party will hold a meeting of the National Assembly this Wednesday, through which it will convene an extraordinary congress on June 12.

Albaniandailynews.com reveals the agenda of the assembly meeting, which will take place on June 2, online and not as previously thought in the amphitheatre of Tirana Lake, due to the continuation of Covid-19 measures and not allowing gatherings with more than 50 people.

The agenda of the assembly meeting includes setting the date of the congress, while it will approve some decisions related to the internal organization of the Socialist Party.

The SP Secretariat will provide information on the situation and activity of the local organizational structures of the Party. Immediately after the congress, the analysis of every socialist organization and voting center for the result of the April 25 elections will begin, while elections will be held in the local and non-central structures of the party. From September 2021 to May 2022, the Socialist Party will launch a campaign for new memberships, through which the Prime Minister Rama has requested the addition of young people, interest groups in order to achieve over 800 thousand votes in the next parliamentary elections.

Prime Minister Rama said a few days ago that very soon there will be an analysis of all structures of the Socialist Party and made it clear to all those who did not achieve the objectives that they will leave. He also announced that there will be a process of opening the party and invited all MPs to start work for the elections of 2023 and those of 2025.

“Internal competition in the open lists has brought its benefits, but also some side effects that need to be carefully analysed for it. What I mean is to be ready to start the race for victory in 2025 and the local elections. Whoever has not achieved his goals will leave his place to someone else.

A special commission needs to be set up urgently, which will be a regenerative operation. On June 12, the Socialist Party will turn 30 and this will be the most appropriate date to convene the Extraordinary Congress. The National Assembly will be elected and those who have excelled the most will enter ", said Rama.
