Residents of Theth tourist village have gathered this Monday to protest against the demolition of buildings in their area.

They were notified that the IMT of Shkodër municipality and the National Inspectorate of Territorial Protection (IKMT) will demolish the constructions without permission.

Residents came out to wait for IMT and IKMT on Qafë Thore street, but the arrival of the inspectors after this protest has been cancelled.

Meanwhile, the residents of Theth state that they are rightful owners of the lands where they have built their guesthouses for centuries.

They consider the demolition of the buildings that was done by them to be completely unjust.

Residents ask to sit down in talks and find a solution for the equipment with ownership certificates and not to destroy the constructions because it would bring the destruction of this tourist village that is visited by thousands of tourists in the summer, but now also during the winter months.

Furthermore, residents say that they will not allow the demolition of the constructions that they have erected with sacrifices on the lands of the ancestors.
