Two Drug Traffickers Arrested by Order of SPAK

Two people accused of heroin trafficking have been arrested by the SPAK (Special Prosecution against Corruption and Organized Crime) and the State Police, following the decision of the Special Court (GJKKO).

It is learned that Irfan Sulaj and Dëfrim Çela trafficked heroin from Greece to Albania and in 2019 SPAK has filed three charges against them: "drug trafficking, committed more than once within a structured criminal group," Structured criminal group" in the form of management and "Committing criminal offenses by a criminal organization".

The arrest warrants in prison were executed two days ago by the State Police for Çelaj and Sulaj. Meanwhile, citizens with initials F. XH and R.SH were also charged with the same criminal offenses.

Investigations related to this criminal proceeding were conducted in the framework of Operation "Remembrance", in close cooperation with the General Directorate of State Police and through the exchange of ongoing information with the Justice authorities of Greece and Northern Macedonia.

From the conducted investigations it has become possible to collect evidence, on the basis of which reasonable suspicions have been raised that the persons under investigation Irfan Sulaj and Dëfrim Çela during 2016 in cooperation with their connections have directed trafficking through coordination of transport and trafficking of quantities of narcotics, mainly heroin from Albania to Greece and then to other EU countries.
