President Volodymyr Zelenesky has demanded Ukraine’s urgent membership in the European Union through a new special procedure, as reported this Monday.

In his statement, Zelenesky expressed gratitude to the partners for their support as he stressed that Ukrainians aim at being Europeans and equal to the rest.

"We call on the European Union to join Ukraine immediately through a new special procedure. We are grateful to our partners who are with us. "But our goal is to be with all Europeans and, most importantly, to be equal," Zelensky said through his social media profile.

Meanwhile, a meeting between the Russian and Ukrainian delegations on the border with Belarus is expected to take place today, as the parties agreed yesterday on unconditional negotiations.
