US Reminds Support to an Independent Albanian State 102 Years Ago

The US Embassy to Albania reminded this Sunday the support of the USA to an independent Albanian State more than a 100 years ago.

"On July 28, 1922, shortly after President Woodrow Wilson advocated for an independent Albanian state at the Paris Peace Conference in January 1919, the United States and Albania established diplomatic relations. On this day 102 years ago, Maxwell Blake, the American Commissioner in Albania, formally notified Albania’s Minister of Foreign Affairs of the United States’ recognition. This pivotal moment sparked a lasting partnership based on mutual respect and shared goals," says statement.

Despite challenges, including communism, this bond has remained unbroken for over a century, with both nations looking forward to continued collaboration, continues US Embassy in his statement.
