Wildfire in Kukës, Helicopter Unable to Put Flames under Control
Autumn is around the corner and the temperatures have fallen considerably, but some areas of Albania are still struggling with forest fires, and in some locations the flames have been so fierce that even air vehicles have not been able to put them under control.
Such a situation was noted this Tuesday evening in Kukes, where despite the intervention by helicopter, it was impossible to control the fire in "Maja e Zezë", as the Civil Protection Commission of Kukes Prefecture announced.
On the other hand, the Commission informed that the fire in "Maja e Rrunës" was brought under control by the forces engaged by the municipality of Kukës, DMR Kukës and Burrel.
"The fire that broke out in Maja e Rruna (Laku i Thive and Laku i pyllit) is isolated and kept under control throughout the day by the forces engaged by the municipality of Kukës, DMR Kukës and Burrel.
- The fire which came from the territory of the municipality of Fushë Arrës, the place called Maja e Zeza continues to be active.
-As of noon, a helicopter intervened in the fire of Maja e Zeza, but without making it possible to isolate it.
- The situation in the municipality of Tropoja and Has is calmâ€, communicated the Civil Protection Commission of Kukes.
