A serious incident occurred in the Maternity Hospital of Fier, where a 30-year-old woman lost her life during childbirth. 

Although there is still no official announcement from the Police, the relatives of the young woman are the ones who have made public the news by throwing accusations against the doctors. According to them, the young woman went to give birth and underwent a cesarean section. The operation went well for a while, but as soon as the baby was rescued, the woman developed complications. 

Doctors are said to have told family members that the woman suffered thrombosis and only a few minutes later gave them another announcement that the woman's death was due to a heart attack. This contradiction over the causes of the woman's death has raised family members' suspicions of her mistreatment. 

"The doctors gave us two versions. The doctors said at the beginning that she suffered thrombosis and then they said that she suffered an attack ", said the parents of the victim and her husband, who works as a guard in the prison of Fier.

The victim is Elisabeta Lamaj, from the village of Vlosht and married in Drenovo e Re, Ballsh. The deceased also has a 5-year-old daughter and was expecting her second child, who thankfully managed to live. Her husband, Leonard Lamaj, is a police officer in Fier Prison. The incident happened on Saturday, while the family members addressed the Prosecution yesterday, from which they ask to start the investigation. 

The relatives have stated to the Prosecutor that they want the 30-year-old to have a forensic examination, in order to find out the real cause that led to her death. After receiving the denunciation, the Prosecution of Fier has started the work to investigate the real causes of death of the maternity ward of the young woman. It is also expected that a group of doctors from Tirana will examine the dead body of the victim. The forensic examination will also determine the causes of death of 30-year-old Elisabeta Lamaj.
