Zero Tolerance for Law Violators; General Police Director

The head of the State Police, Gladis Nano, in a statement to the media, said that there will be no tolerance for any police officer who violates or neglects his duty.

One day after the tragedy in Himarë, where Commissioner Arjan Tase killed a 7-year-old girl with a speedboat, the Director of the State Police went to the field, directing the operation to block the vessels.

""First of all, I want to convey my most sincere condolences to the Avdia family, who lost their little girl in a tragic accident yesterday. We are twice responsible as the State Police, for this event, since the author of this event was a police officer. The author of yesterday's incident was arrested red-handed, at the scene of the incident. I ask the justice authorities to give a maximum sentence.

I am very determined, as you can see even today, I am leading the operation in Dhërmi myself, for escorting, blocking and verifying all vessels, their documentation and the procedure they follow to go out to sea. Just as I am determined to have zero tolerance for any law breakers and endangering the lives of vacationers, I am determined and with zero tolerance to punish any police officer who is unworthy, abuses trust, abuses of duty and is negligent in carrying out of duty", said Nano.

The purpose of the operation is the control of all vessels, the verification by the Sector for the Investigation of Economic Crime, for the documentation of the means and if they are related to cases of laundering the proceeds of the criminal offense, as well as the verification by the Sector for the Investigation of Illegal Traffic and by Interpol, whether or not these are stolen abroad.
