Former MP of the Democratic Party (DP), Genc Pollo declared this Sunday that with the kind of MPs being in Albanian Parliament, the battle to preserve free speech in the country must be re-initiated.

This statement of Pollo came after President of the Republic of Albania, Ilir Meta decreed earlier today the return to the Parliament for review of the so-called “Anti-Defamation” package.

Furthermore, the Former Democrat MP emphasized that this law’s return to the Parliament by the President is an opportunity to save a democracy’s Constitutional foundation, that of free speech.

“The return to the Parliament of the anti-speech law by the President, an opportunity to preserve a constitutional foundation of democracy that is free speech. With all the kind of MPs of this legislature, the battle must be restarted”, proclaimed Pollo.
