Chicken Meat with Salmonella, the Case Referred to Tirana Prosecution
Some 13.1 tons of chicken meat infected with salmonella was sold in the markets in Albania at least in ten region.
The news was confirmed this Friday by the inspectors of the National Food Authority, which underlined that fortunately 5.2 tons were blocked.
The chicken meat was sold by 'Dimal' company and the National Food Authority informed that the case was reported to Tirana Municipality for further investigations.
All quantity arrived to Albania from Brasil on March 11, and the company pretends that came 18.3 tons in total, but according to the head of Veterinary order, Ervin Resuli it is suspected that the quantity is 27 tons.
Sources from the Food Authority said that they said to the company to not sell in the market the meat until the results of the analysis, but when they returned a week later, most of the part was sold.
