45 Kg Cocaine Found in Durres Port, Two Arrested

On Wednesday evening, as part of the anti-drug operation codenamed "Transit", 45.5 kg of cocaine were seized in a container in the Port of Durres coming from Brazil. For the case, so far it is reported that two people have been put. 

Arben Ferizi, 30 years old, resident in Prishtina, administrator in the company that had ordered the consignment of chicken meat in Brazil, and Egert Vargu, 39 years old, resident in Tirana, a customs agent contracted by this company, were handcuffed. 

The amount of cocaine was transiting from Brazil to North Macedonia, and was reportedly caught thanks to the information available to the Criminal Police of the Durrës Local Police Directorate, while the two arrested are charged with the criminal offense "Narcotics Trafficking". 

The container containing the narcotics was filled with chicken, which had been transited from Brazil, on behalf of a commercial entity in North Macedonia. As a result of the control, 40 packages of suspected cocaine, weighing 45 kg and 500 grams, were found inside the chicken load.
