52% of Albania's Population in 7 Municipalities, 48% in 54 Municipalities

In the last 12 years, the population in Albania shrank with 420.000 people, reaching actually to 2,402,113, from 2,820,000 that was in 2011.

This reduction along with the internal immigration, made that the population in Albania to be concentrated in cities, not in village.

According to the last data of the census, the population is mainly located in Tiranë, Durrës, Elbasan, Shkodër, Fier, Kamzë and Vorë, where actually live 52% of the population. 

While in other 54 municipalities, live 48% of the population.

In the last 12 years, Tirana increased with 3300 people every year.
