Albania Faced Cyber Attacks Due to Condemnation of War in Ukraine

Speaker of the Assembly Lindita Nikolla delivered her speech at the First Parliamentary Summit of the International Platform for Crimea, in Zagreb.

Nikolla spoke about the war in Ukraine and the cyber attack on our country. She emphasized that these are not only attacks on sovereignty but seriously threaten democracy and civilizations in Europe and around the world.

"Albania, in its capacity as a non-permanent member of the Security Council, together with the United States, is a co-hostage-holder in determining positions and actions for the defense of Ukraine.

The war in Ukraine reminded us that the invasive aggressions are neither deposited in the annals of history, nor a political rhetoric, but are a real threat to all humanity, to our continent and planet. Ukraine's war is our war.

Synergies between terrorist attacks and military aggression can easily develop nowadays. These synergies multiply the risks to the countries and regions that are the target of these attacks.

Albania has been the target of cyber attacks because of its serious commitment against Russia's military aggression and its contribution to peace and freedom.

Russia's military aggression against Ukraine and cyber attacks against free nations are not only attacks on sovereignty. They seriously threaten democracy and civilizations in Europe and on the planet. Therefore, support for Ukraine and the countries that are the target of cyber attacks is a contribution to democracy, democratic values ??and institutions.

In Europe, as well as in other regions of the world, the creation of defensive military alliances is not always accompanied by an effective political partnership.

Political partnership makes military alliances more effective. Military alliances can serve as a catalyst for strong and lasting political partnerships. We should all be aware of such an interaction," said Nikolla.

The summit was organized by the Parliament of Croatia and the Parliament of Ukraine, in Zagreb, on October 25. Speakers of the parliaments of member countries of the International Platform for Crimea participated in it, including the Speaker of the House of Representatives of the USA Nancy Pelosi, President of the German Bundestag, Bärbel Bas, etc.
