Albania Ready to Launch Two Satellites Into Space

"Albania 1" and "Albania 2" satellites are ready to be launched into space. 

The news was announced by Prime Minister Rama through a post on Instagram. They will monitor Albania from the heights with a high precision and full picture clarity. The satellites will cost Albania 6 million dollars. 

"Ready to launch into space from the Kennedy Space Center in Florida, USA, the two super-technological eyes that will monitor Albania from the heights, with a high precision and full image clarity up to 75 cm2; Satellites of ALBANIA 1 and ALBANIA2", stated Rama. 

Albania will have exclusive use of them, for the processing of Geospatial Information (GIS) as well as the provision of imaging products and its other components, of a number of institutions and subjects, public or private, whose work is related to the territory, water, forests, fires, urban waste, agricultural production, urban development, property titles, and so on. 

On September 29, the satellite service in the Republic of Albania was presented at the Prime Minister's premises. The Minister of Defense, Niko Peleshi announced that a 6 million dollar Satellite Service contract was signed in the field of defense and security for monitoring with advanced technology throughout the territory of the Republic of Albania between the National Civil Defense Agency and the Operator. Peleshi emphasized that Albania is entering a new phase of digitalization. The Albania 1 and Albania 2 satellites will initially be used for a period of 3 years.
