Albania with Record Increase of Overnight Stays

A total of 2.3 million overnight stays were registered in Albania during the first six months of 2024, in accommodation structures. According to the data analyzed by "Scan Intel", Albania has recorded the largest increase in the number of overnight stays in accommodation structures, compared to the same period last year, if considered all European countries.  
About 37% is the growth for Albania, compared to the first six months of 2023, thus ensuring the first place with the highest growth. 
In the first half of 2024, there were about 1.2 billion overnight stays in tourist accommodation across the European Union, marking a decrease of 0.9% compared to the same period last year. 
According to the data of the "European Statistics Agency", Luxembourg is the second country after Albania with the highest growth, followed by Malta, North Macedonia, and Serbia, letting us understand that the region has also performed well. Meanwhile, countries such as France, Iceland, and Belgium show a decline. 
According to the number of overnight stays by foreign visitors, again the data positions Albania at the top, with an annual increase of 51% in the first six months of the year. Meanwhile, the European Union average speaks of a 3.3% increase in the number of nights spent in accommodation structures by foreign visitors.
