Albanian Drug Dealers, Money Launderers Cuffed in Ibiza

Operation of the Civil Guard on the island of Puig d'en Valls, Ibiza has led to the dismantling of a criminal group dedicated to drug trafficking and money laundering, as reported Wednesday.

According to the information collected from Periódico de Ibiza and Formentera, the operation took place yesterday, September 13, and has imprisoned several people, most of them Albanians.

During the operation, tens of thousands of EUR in cash, various amounts of narcotics, luxury vehicles and valuable watches were seized.

However, the majority of those arrested are from Eastern Europe, originating from Albania.

Actions and controls in residences and commercial premises lasted until late in the afternoon, while agents of the Judicial Police and the Central Operative Unit (UCO) from Palma were mobilized for this phase of the operation.

Nevertheless, this operation joins two other major actions carried out in recent weeks on the island against criminal groups specialized in drug trafficking and money laundering.
