Albanian Gang Cracked Down in Germany, 136 Kg Drugs Seized

Customs officials and Berlin police officers have arrested five members of a drug gang, all Albanian. They are accused of having smuggled 136 kilograms of marijuana into Germany, worth one million euros.

According to the information of the "Berliner Zeitung", the investigators of the Joint Narcotics Investigation Group took action last Friday afternoon. According to investigators, the Albanian men aged 50, 40, 38, 27 and 22 wanted to load cannabis plants near a warehouse in Velten, north of Berlin, and prepare them for resale.

The perpetrators apparently felt quite confident for a long time. However, investigators from customs and the police had long been watching the gang and wiretapping their phones. When the Mercedes truck driven by the 50-year-old pulled up to the property, four other men waiting there began to unload the drugs from the trailer into a VW Caddy, but at this point the police intervened.

Officials seized €32,990 in cash at the VW, believed to have come from the sale of other drugs. According to reports, the police are looking for other members of the gang.
