Albanian Surrenders After Killing Wife in Italy
49-year-old Albanian Avni Meçja has surrendered to the police after several hours in search to face the charges for the murder of his Romanian wife Alexandra Elena Mocanu.
The crime took place in an apartment on the fifth floor of the building at number 42 Viale Trieste in Bolzano. Italian media have reported that the murder took place on Saturday.
The main suspect is her husband Avni Mecja. The latter called his brother on Saturday to tell him that he had to leave because he was wanted.
Alexandra worked in a bar in a shopping center on via Galvani. "Alexandra is portrayed as an always available and likeable worker," said her colleagues.
While the neighbors have stated that they often heard the dwo arguing, sometimes even her screams.
