Albanian Woman Dies in Italy after Being Attacked by Husband

Albanian woman who was attacked by her husband, Etleva Bodi, died in the hospital after 48 hours.

The 31-year-old mother of four minor children could not survive despite the medical assistance of the doctors at the San Paolo Hospital in Savona.

The serious event happened shortly before midnight on Friday, where 41-year-old Albanian Selami Bodi called the emergency saying that his wife could not breathe.

After the first aid given by the emergency services, it turned out that Etleva Bodi was attacked by her husband, who was then arrested by the Italian police and is now accused of murder.

Reason for the attack was an argument between them due to jealousy.

Selami Bodi, according to neighboring media, had heard his wife talking on the phone and then attacked her, trying to strangle her.

In an attempt to escape from her husband's rage, the wife locked herself in the bedroom but he broke the door in a rage and tried to suffocate her with his hands.

The victim lost consciousness and the frightened husband had already requested the intervention of the medical staff, regardless of the gravity of his action.

At the time of the incident, the couple's four children were in the adjacent room and were asleep.

Meanwhile, when the police arrived at the apartment, the 41-year-old confessed the whole course of the event. Selami Bodi worked in construction and had no previous criminal record.

He also admitted to the investigators that during the last weeks the arguments between him and his wife had become even more frequent.
