The Embassy of Albania in the USA has announced that an Albanian has been sworn in as mayor of Fairview, New Jersey. 

It is about Violeta Berisha. Through a post on social networks, the embassy says that this is a historic moment for the Albanian community in the US. 

"Today signifies a momentous occasion for the Albanian-American community as Violetta Berisha assumes the role of mayor in Fairview, New Jersey. This marks a historic milestone, as she becomes both the first woman and the first Albanian to hold the position in the city.  
We extend our gratitude, thanks for her achievements in the community, and best wishes as she undertakes this significant position", says the embassy's response.
