Bird Flu Outbreak, Trade Back to Normal
The Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development announced on Tuesday that since October 30 there have been no new outbreaks of bird flu in Albania.
In a press release, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry announced that, immediately after receiving the Alert notification for the confirmation of the avian influenza disease in the Kashar Administrative Unit, it took measures to monitor and control the case.
According to the Ministry of Agriculture, for the early detection of the disease and the limitation of its spread, the National Veterinary and Plant Protection Authority has taken measures and monitored 13,907 poultry breeding farms.
No clinical suspicions were encountered during the controls. The National Food Authority has not identified any problems during 70 controls in the marketing of food products, originating from poultry: eggs and chicken meat. A total of 354 samples have arrived at the Institute of Food Safety and Veterinary Medicine, which have turned out to be negative. The Institute of Public Health has not identified any suspected or positive cases of avian influenza in humans.
"Commercial activity for the trade of live birds in the municipalities of Tirana, Vorë, and Kamza returns to normality and the minister's order "On taking restrictive measures for the prevention and control of avian influenza disease in birds, in open environments and in animal markets alive", is abolished", announces the Ministry of Agriculture.
