Greek government is expecting to facilitate border crossing measures with Albania.

Sources of Top-Channel informed that the Government of Greece will decide during the next hours to not close the border of Kakavija during night 23:00 pm - 07:00 am in order to relieve traffic and chaos created at the borders.

Same sources said that it is also expected that Greece to temporarily remove the obligation of doing tampons for Covid-19 at the borders until the situation will be stabilized.

The queue of people wishing to cross the Albanian border into Greece is currently almost 20km long and stretches as far as Gjirokaster.

From yesterday, the queue at the Kakavija crossing point has grown continually in length. The border is only open during the day and the delay is caused by crossing procedures on the Greek side relating to preventing the spread of COVID-19.
