Computer Fraud, Three Call Center Employees Arrested

The coded police operation "Snare" was successfully completed, for the attack on criminal activities in the field of computer fraud, while 3 employees of a call center were arrested. 

Official sources from the Tirana Police informed that citizens Enrik Shehi, Armend Haxhiu and Igli Isufaj were arrested. They are accused of tricking foreign nationals into investing in fictitious stock exchanges. 

"The coded police operation "Snare" was successfully completed for the attack on criminal activities in the field of computer fraud. The operation, carried out by the Section for the Investigation of Economic and Financial Crimes in Tirana, under the direction of the Prosecutor's Office at the Court of First Instance Tirana. 

They cheated foreign citizens to invest in fictitious stock exchanges, 3 citizens were arrested, one of them the administrator of the call center entity. 

3 other citizens, employed as operators in this subject, are being prosecuted. 4 mobile phones, sums of money suspected to have benefited from this criminal activity, as well as the list with the data of foreign citizens who are suspected to have been deceived to invest in fictitious stock markets, are seized. 

The specialists of the Section for the Investigation of Economic and Financial Crimes in Tirana, under the direction of the Prosecutor's Office at the Court of First Instance of Tirana, after a genuine investigative work, successfully organized and finalized the coded police operation "Snare". As a result of this operation, the following citizens were arrested in flagrante delicto: 

- E. Sh., 29 years old (administrator of the call center subject), A. H., 26 years old and I. I., 20 years old (call center operators), all three residents of Tirana. 

Also, citizens E.S., 25 years old, G.R., 22 years old and A.H., 18 years old, all three residents of Tirana, employed as operators in this subject, were criminally prosecuted. 

From the investigative actions, it was found that the citizen E. Sh., managed, on the "Gjergj Fishta" boulevard, a private call center entity, not registered with the competent bodies. Following the actions, it was found that citizens A.H., I.I., E.S., G.R., and A.H., employed as operators in the subject call center, called foreign citizens, introduced themselves as sales agents and through fraud, convinced them to invest in the stock market fictitious (Forex). 

As a result of the operation, 4 mobile devices, sums of money suspected to have benefited from this criminal activity, as well as the list of foreign nationals who were allegedly deceived into investing in fictitious stock markets were seized as material evidence. The work continues for the complete documentation of this criminal activity, the identification of other persons involved in it, as well as the confiscation of the assets that are the source of this criminal activity. 

The materials were passed to the Prosecution, for further procedural actions, for the criminal offenses 'Fraud', 'Exercise of financial activities without a license' and 'Concealment of income'," the police inform.
