Cyber Attack, President Calls on Institutions to Take Measures
President of the Republic, Ilir Meta, has reacted to the cyber attack on government websites in Albania that started on Friday last week. Meta demands that measures be taken to bring the situation under control and to ensure that such events do not recur.
The Head of State says that he considers the situation created as a result of the blocking of services to be extremely serious, creating difficulties for citizens in businesses and many activities related to this system.
"I assess the situation created as a result of the blocking of online public services as extremely serious, which has created extraordinary difficulties for citizens, businesses and for many other activities related to this system.
Repeatedly, even at the meetings of the National Security Council before the aggression against Ukraine, I requested the taking of all measures to increase cyber security, to prevent such events.
This situation, in the context of internal and international developments, burdens even more and compromises the functioning of the state, in all aspects, where especially the citizens are the ones who suffer the consequences the most.
I appeal to take immediate, serious and responsible measures, mobilizing the highest professional expertise for the fastest possible solution and bringing the situation under control, to ensure that such events do not recur in the future," writes Meta.
