Cyber Attacks, Yuri Kim: Malicious People Tried to Undermine Faith in Democracy
US Ambassador in Tirana, Yuri Kim, has expressed Tuesday her concern about the cyber attacks in Albania, for which the government accuses Iran, stressing that some malicious people tried to undermine trust in democracy.
At the conference organized by the American Chamber, the US diplomat expressed her pride that US helped Albania with tackling this attack.
"There are some incredible people who have come to this conference. I wish I had had my calendar free today and tomorrow to participate in these discussions. They will talk about the risks, the dangers of cybernetics.
This discussion could not have come at a more opportune time. Local leaders have a more important role in democracy. You know what the priorities are to have a safe life. Newly in Albania, as we have had in recent months, the protection of some ill-wishers who try to undermine the faith in democracy, where the peace of the citizens is disturbed.
The US is here to help. We have helped with cyber measures. Because of the dependence of citizens on social networks, we need partnership", declared Ambassador Kim among other things.
