Dimal Mayor Ends Up in SPAK over Property Destruction Accusations

Mayor of Dimal Municipality, Juliana Memaj, ended on Friday in the Special Prosecution against Organized Crime and Corruption (SPAK), after a family reported her for destruction of property.

This story dates back to two years ago, when the husband and wife couple from Dimali turned to the Prosecutor's Office of Berat to investigate and verify their claims, a claim that the district court has deemed accurate and based on the law.

However, this is not the first time that the name of the mayor of Dimal comes to SPAK's door, because she was reported earlier by the residents of Lumas, who, in addition to the company that "destroyed" their river, also sued Mema.

Earlier on, the 123 residents of this village requested criminal prosecution for the citizen Pëllumb Salillari, including the mayor, but it is not yet known if this report has started to be examined in the Special Prosecutor's Office.

After a battle that lasted 2 years with endless court proceedings, Petrit Baho will finally enjoy his property, after winning the case against the mayor of Dimal, Juljana Memaj, whom he sued for property destruction.

On its part, Court of Berat forwarded to SPAK the decision to investigate Memaj for "Abuse of duty" and "Forgery of documents".

Baho spouses from the village of Poshnje said that the ordeal of injustices and efforts began 2 years ago, when the Dimal Municipality took their property, which the spouses say they have with regular certificates, and gave it to another citizen for the construction of a resort.

Spouses Baho sued the mayor of Dimal, Juljana Memaj, as well as 2 employees of the Territory Protection Inspectorate (IMT) for abuse of office, destruction of private property, fraud and forgery.

Today, after a 2-year investigation, the Court of Berat concluded the trial of the case and gave Baho the right, since according to the evidence, it was found that the Municipality of Dimal violated the law and openly favored the other citizen for profit purposes, building without permit a resort and a medical clinic on Baho's property and on "state land".

In conclusion, the Court of Berat decided that the municipality should cease the violation of the ownership of the plaintiff Petri Baho and not repeat it in the future, as well as demolish the constructions on the plaintiff's property at its own expense.
