DP Calls on SPAK to Punish People Involved in Personal Data Leak
The Deputy Chairman of the Democratic Party, Enkelejd Alibeaj, has called on the SPAK (Special Prosecution against Corruption and Organized Crime) to act and bring to justice all persons involved in the scandal of leaking personal data of more than 630 thousand Albanian citizens.
According to Alibeaj, bringing to justice the real perpetrators of the patronageist scandal would be a clear sign of the seriousness of the investigation and could have prevented the release of personal data of citizens such as salaries and vehicles at their disposal.
Full declaration:
For days, the most sensitive data of Albanian citizens have been thrown in the Bazaar and are passing hand in hand, inside and outside the country, in what is the next side of the medal of the unpunished patronageists' scandal.
The Prosecution has a duty to make transparency on investigations into the publication of personal data of citizens Albanians. This is a serious event and beyond the secrecy of the investigation, Albanians have the right to know what is happening in the meantime with this serious violation of their fundamental rights, with serious consequences for the private and professional life of each of the victims.
The government cannot hide from this major scandal. The foolish outbursts and jokes of Edi Rama cannot forget the fact that the sensitive data of over 630 thousand Albanians are today in the hands of gangs and criminals.
The responsibility falls on SPAK, the institution that should have seriously investigated and until the end the scandal with the personal data of the citizens that the Socialist Party used through patronageists for the April 25 elections.
Bringing to justice the real perpetrators of the patronage scandal would be a sign of the seriousness of the investigation into one of the acts that marked one of the culminations of the April 25 election massacre.
But when SPAK is silent, it is clear that political manipulators are not afraid to reach out and intervene where every Albanian has entrusted his personal data to the state.
It is clear that the creators and implementers of the scheme of publishing personal data of Albanian citizens, both in the case of patronageists and in the case of a few days ago, is the corrupt dome of the state party.
Albanian citizens, blackmailed, violated in their privacy and exposed to any wrongdoer, expect a strong and clear response from justice, because the lack of punishment of the perpetrators of the patronage scandal, today is turning into a direct threat to life of over 600 thousand Albanians.
