Drugs, Smuggling Immigrants; 130 Arrested in One Week

The State Police has made the balance sheet of a week's work in cracking down on criminal activities, stating that 130 people were arrested. Through a press release, it is announced that 32 different operations have been carried out for drug trafficking, illegal possession of weapons and even the transportation of illegal immigrants. 

During this week, 372 were prosecuted and 27 were declared wanted. Of those arrested, 38 were wanted persons, of these 30 were nationally wanted and 8 internationally wanted. 

Police notification: 

• During this week, 529 persons were arrested, prosecuted and declared wanted, out of which: 130 were arrested, 372 were prosecuted and 27 were declared wanted. 

• A total of 38 wanted persons were apprehended, of which: 30 nationally wanted and 8 internationally wanted.

• During the police operations codenamed "Drug House" and "Valbona", conducted in Tirana and Kukës, 2 premises were used for the cultivation of cannabis, by means of lamps, and hundreds of narcotic seedlings, narcotics and equipment were seized. various electrical that serve for the cultivation of narcotic plants, indoors. 

• Also, mass control of the territory continued, with drones and police services, from the ground, to prevent and crack down on the attempt to cultivate narcotic plants. 

• In order to prevent and crack down on criminal activity of sale and trafficking of narcotics, 8 operations were conducted throughout the country, as a result of which a total of about 59.2 kg of cannabis were seized, of which 48.5 kg in the form of chocolate, about 1 kg heroin and cocaine, 12 vehicles, 15 mobile phones, as well as 2 communication radios like those of the Police. 

• 5 operations have been carried out to crack down on and smuggle illegal immigrants entering our country, with the aim of crossing into one of the EU countries. 

• In the field of illegal possession of weapons, 12 cases were identified and hit and 5 firearms, 6 shotguns, 1 sporting weapon, 5 knives, ammunition, etc. were seized. 

• 2 criminal events in the field of domestic crime were prevented; 9 cases of opposition by police officers were hit, and 42 cases of domestic violence were prosecuted. 

• 40 cases of environmental crimes have been identified and cracked down on; 8 cases of organizing games of chance; 14 cases of theft of electricity, as well as monitors for games of chance and money were seized. 

• In the field of narcotics, 34 cases were identified and hit, while in the field of economic crime, 29 cases were identified and hit. Also, various jewellery and smuggled goods were seized. 

• 2 cases of arson were identified, with 2 citizens prosecuted. 

Traffic Police / Continues control in all roads of the country with dedicated services, using modern logistical means. 

• The controls were carried out using the "Poliscan" intelligent car, automatic license plate reader, automatic radars, cameras and other non-uniformed vehicles, in order to prevent road accidents. 

• During this week, 670 driving licenses were suspended, of which: 511 for speeding, 94 for driving under the influence of alcohol or drunk and 65 for driving in the opposite direction. 

• 50 drivers were arrested, out of which: 37 for drunk driving and 13 for driving without a driving license. 

• 2 drivers were arrested, as they were found to be driving under the influence of narcotics. 

• 16,391 administrative measures were imposed, as well as 6 cases of active corruption against employees exercising public functions, all cases identified by the Tirana Traffic Police. 

Border Police / Intensification of controls, in order to prevent and crack down on illegality, as well as cross-border crimes. 

• During this week, 10 wanted citizens were arrested, of which 4 in national search and 6 in international search. 

• 6 citizens were prosecuted at large for the criminal offense "Illegal border crossing", 3 citizens for "Assistance in illegal border crossing", 2 citizens for "Forgery of documents", 2 persons for "Narcotics trafficking" , as well as 2 others for "Disobedience to the order of a police officer". 

• Also, 2 cases of bribery were hit and 2 citizens were prosecuted who, due to shortcomings in the documentation, tried to corrupt the border police.
