EU Ready to Send War Crimes Investigators to Ukraine

European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen says the EU is ready to send joint investigative teams to Ukraine to document reported war crimes.

She tweeted after speaking with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky about the "brutal killing of civilians in Bucha and elsewhere in Ukraine".

The teams will be co-ordinated with Ukraine's attorney general, with the support of the European police agency Europol and the criminal justice agency Eurojust.

Shocking images of civilian bodies on the streets of Bucha, near Ukraine's capital, Kiev, have led to an explosion of international condemnation of Russia.
