Former Prime Minister Sali Berisha has emphasized on Friday that the project for Port of Durrës is a big time corrupt affair of Prime Minister Edi Rama's government, where he and his people will benefit 90%, while the state will be given only 10%. 

During the weekly conference with journalists, the Chairman of Democratic Party (DP) promised that that project will not be realized, as he stated that if the profit in Veliera was a few millions, in the Port of Durrës it is several billions of EUR. 

According to Berisha, this is the most scandalous affair in history and that the Democratic Party is seriously dealing with this. 

"They are all a big abuse, a big theft and if I'm not mistaken in a meeting before that I said that the affair of the Port of Durrës is an affair that the land alone is over 3 billion EUR, without counting the construction area over to. An affair that Rama has undertaken mainly for his own pockets, for his enrichment. An affair about which no citizen of Durrës has been asked. 

An affair for which all national and international tendering rules have been violated. An affair that Rama wins 90% and they give the Albanian state 10%. An affair that will not be realized. An affair that fines Albania with the construction of perhaps 2 billion EUR for a new port because Mister Rama and his entourage want to build their own Dubai in the port of Durrës. 

So, it is the most scandalous affair in the history of this country and we are dealing with it and following it every day, but an affair like that, I recall here that if for the famous Veliera, it started in 2016 and it is not ending. 

If the profit in the Veliera is several million, in the port of Durrës it is several billion and it will not lose, but it will never win. No conqueror has allowed himself such an attitude. No invader has bothered to destroy the port of Durres, except for the fact that this port is strategic for the country", said Berisha among other things.
