First IGC, Berisha Slams Rama for Not Inviting Him in Brussels

Prime Minister Edi Rama has faced criticism since the Albanian delegation that went to Brussels for the first Intergovernmental Conference did not have any members from the opposition.

For this reason, the head of the Democratic Party, Sali Berisha, from Durrës where he is holding a meeting with young people and intellectuals of the coastal city, said that the head of the government went to Brussels on July 19 as a monist. However, the Democratic leader said that if he were to invite him, he would accept the invitation, adding that there would be no handshake between the two.

"He went to Brussels as a monist, just like his predecessors went. Don't be surprised. I will tell you something from history, but true. There is no doubt that he went to Brussels as a monist. That's why I have declared him the enemy of the freedom of Albanians. Of course, if he invited me, I would go. But forget that he would shake hands with me. It could never happen. I would go to represent you, the democratic aspirations of Albanians. So he went as a monist, he came back as a monist. Of course, with the file on the back of the incinerators, with the file of the Port of Durrës," declared Berisha.
