Four Albania Ambassadors Abroad Dismissed by Presidential Decision
President of the Republic, Ilir Meta has relieved Friday from duty four ambassadors of Albania abroad, namely the diplomatic leaders of the United Nations (UN), Hungary, the Council of Europe and United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESO).
Among the pink-slipped Ambassadors was also Ismail Kadare's daughter, Besiana Kadare, whose term as ambassador to the UN ended, but was then decreed as resident ambassador of Albania to UNESCO.
Besiana Kadare was at the same time Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Albania to the United Nations, in New York, resident, and Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Albania to the Republic of Cuba, non-resident.
Nevertheless, Kadare was appointed ambassador to UNESCO, while Ferit Hoxha, who currently holds this position, has been appointed ambassador of Albania to the UN. Hungary's Arian Spasse and Strasbourg's Albana Dautllari have also been fired.
Meanwhile, President Meta decreed Dastid Koreshi as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Albania to the Permanent Mission of the Republic of Albania to the Council of Europe, in Strasbourg, resident.

The President of the Republic, Sh.T.Z. Ilir Meta, in support of article 92, letter "dh", article 93 of the Constitution, as well as article 26, point 2, of law no. 23/2015 "On the foreign service of the Republic of Albania", on the proposal of the Prime Minister, has decreed some dismissals of the Ambassadors of the Republic of Albania to other countries and international organizations.
Specifically:
- Mr. Arian Spasse, was relieved of the duty of Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Albania to the Republic of Hungary, resident.
- Mrs. Albana Dautllari, was relieved of the duty of Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Albania to the Permanent Mission of the Republic of Albania to the Council of Europe, in Strasbourg, resident.
- Mrs. Besiana Kadare, was relieved of her duties as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Albania to the United Nations in New York, resident, and Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Albania to the Republic of Cuba, non-resident.
- Mr. Ferit Hoxha, was relieved of the duty of Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Albania to the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO), resident.

The President of the Republic, Sh.T.Z. Ilir Meta, in support of article 92, letter "dh", article 93 of the Constitution, as well as article 26, point 2, of law no. 23/2015 "On the foreign service of the Republic of Albania", on the proposal of the Prime Minister, as well as after the administration of the opinions of the Committee on Foreign Policy for the proposed candidacies, forwarded by the Assembly of Albania on 29.09.2021, has decreed, some appointments of some Ambassadors of the Republic of Albania to other countries and international organizations.
Specifically:
- Mr. Dastid Koreshi was appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Albania to the Permanent Mission of the Republic of Albania to the Council of Europe, in Strasbourg, resident.
- Mrs. Besiana Kadare, was appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Albania to the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO), resident.
- Mr. Ferit Hoxha, was appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Albania to the United Nations, in New York, resident, and Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Albania to the Republic of Cuba, non-resident.
