Man Sentenced to Prison for Explosion of a Building
Court of Lezha has sentenced Friday Erald Pajtani to 4 years in prison, after in cooperation with another person, in November 2020 placed a quantity of explosives in a building under construction in the area of Rana Hedhur in Shengjin.
According to the reports, the young man from Fushë-Kruja was found guilty of the criminal offenses, "Illegal Possession and Production of Weapons, Explosive Weapons and Ammunition" as well as "Destruction of Property with Explosives".
Judge Ilir Përdeda sentenced him to a maximum of 10 years in prison, but given that the young man benefits from a shortened trial and a combination of sentences, he will only serve 4 years in prison.
However, the building under construction owned by businessman Liman Gjoka was attacked twice with explosives, specifically in November and December 2020, while the second explosion has not yet been cleared.
Cause of these events is suspected to have been property conflicts regarding the land where the multi-storey building was being built.
