Govt Decision on Guns Control Approved
Albania’s Criminal Code will change again, after an important decision was signed at the government meeting this Thursday in order to control weapons and prevent civilians from possessing illegal guns.
At the end of the meeting, the Minister of Interior, Bledi Çuçi, announced the new measures and the categories that are affected.
According to Çuçi, the plan aims at preventing the possession of illegal weapons by civilians, controlling trafficking and disciplining licensing, not only military ones, but also the ones used for hunting and by private security agencies.
"We approved the action plans for the control of weapons and ammunition for these two years.
The plan envisions preventing the possession of illegal weapons in the hands of civilians, controlling arms trafficking and disciplining licensing, not only combat, but also hunting and private security agencies.
We have envisioned making some changes to the criminal code and criminalizing trafficking through postal parcels, or possession of devices that enable 3D printing of weapons.
So it is a strategy that aims to prevent the illegal possession of these weapons. The police take action every day", said the Minister.
