GP Olsian Çela and Director of the NCAA Linda Pustina, Signed Agreement on 'Medical and Industrial Cannabis'

Today, the General Prosecutor, Mr. Olsian Çela, and the General Director of the National Cannabis Control Agency (NCCA), Mrs. Linda Pustina, signed a cooperation agreement for the "Exchange of information within the framework of control, inspection, and monitoring of the National Cannabis Control Agency."

Under this Agreement, the Parties shall commit to cooperate on matters concerning violations of the law related to the use of medical cannabis. The Parties shall exchange information regarding illicit activities related to the cultivation, production, distribution, and use of medical cannabis, as well as verify the assets of employees of the National Cannabis Control Agency (NCCA) and licensed entities.

More specifically, the Prosecution shall provide required information concerning candidates and employees of the NCCA, as well as the staff of licensed entities, including but not limited to owners, shareholders, administrators, and staff involved in the verification process conducted by the Agency.

And, the Agency shall provide the Prosecutor’s Office with all relevant documentation pertaining to requests for the verification of candidates and employees of the Agency, as well as personnel of licensed entities, along with evidence and technical expertise necessary for investigations and criminal proceedings.

The NCCA and the Prosecutor’s Office shall establish a Joint Coordinating Group to ensure the effective implementation of this agreement. This group will convene periodically to evaluate progress, identify obstacles, and address challenges in fulfilling their joint commitments under this agreement."
