Italian Investment Stock at Euro 1.7 bln

Italian investments in Albania continue to be concentrated in consolidated sectors of the economy. The Bank of Albania announces that, for 2024, Italy ranks as the second largest investor, after Turkey, with Euro 200 million.

Meanwhile, the Italian investment stock at the end of 2014 reached around Euro 1.7 billion.

Compared to a year earlier, this indicator increased by 16%. Italian investments lead in strategic sectors of our economy such as finance, banking and services.

Albania and Italy, in recent years, have expanded cooperation in various fields, enabling the further growth of Italian investments in the EU candidate country.

Foreign direct investments marked a record increase to Euro 1.58 billion in 2024, with an increase of Euro 92 million or 5.6% compared to the previous year.

According to data from the Bank of Albania, the real estate sector continues to lead in total foreign investments, with Euro 379 million, followed by the extractive industry with Euro 214 million of investments, the processing industry with Euro 173 million, and electricity where Euro 166 million were invested.
